a) I am sick of being sick and not knowing what is wrong.
b) Ladies….a little advice for you. When buying a purse for yourself consider it’s proportion to your body. It annoys me when I see a big lady with a little purse. For the most part, I think that little purses are ugly and unclassy (unless for a special event). But for every day use, please get a big purse. You don’t have to fill it full, but make sure its proportional to your body. And please, when you wear your Columbia jacket and brown leather shoes (doc martens anyone?) please don’t carry a little purse.
c) Whenever I see a man on a cell phone for an extended period “shooting the shit” as they say, I always wonder what they are talking about. Do men honestly call each other for a chat like use girls do. I think a 2 minute conversation for a man with another man on a cell phone (besides work related stuff or, of course, talking with their girlfriend or family) is enough. But buddies calling up each other to chat is weird.

It’s like cramps times 1,000. It’s like the day after you did an intense ab workout. It’s like indigestion after a greasy, spicy indian meal. It’ s like being punched in my stomach ten times. It’s like being all gassy.
I have an appointment for an ultra-sound tomorrow. I am actually really nervous because it could be something very serious. Lots of signs are pointing to my gallbladder. But it has started to hurt in my back, hoping it has nothing to do with my kidneys.
I have had one ultrasound before, and the 1/2 hour leading up to it is extremely painful because your bladder has to be bursting full. And to add to it, I have to drive from W.B. to Beloit on a bumpy highway. Could spell disaster.

For over a week, I have had this constant ache in my belly.
Last night I had had enough and went to the Immediate Care. The doctor was a nut case, and I am still unsure of what is wrong. The doctor told me that I should get in an ambulance and be transferred to the ER. Was he crazy? I could walk around, I was alert, and able to get there myself.
I was then told today that I had to go to the ER, which I did, but have you ever been to the Beloit Memorial Emergency Room? I think that I became even more sick from just sitting in that nasty room.
In the end, I decided that I was fine, and maybe I am just talking myself out of it, or maybe there is something deep down wrong. But my x-rays, blood work and CT scan came back completely fine, so problems, no infections.
I have scheduled an additional ultra-sound on Monday to see if that will come up with anything. Just pray that I make it through the weekend.

I was watching a back episode of Lipstick Jungle (one of my new favorite chick shows) last night. And what comes on…..one of my favorite chick singers.
As I listened to the song on the show, I knew it was her and quickly went to the website to see that it actually was.
I discovered Missy Higgins when I was in Sydney. The radios played it and I distinctively remember going to the music store on Bondi Beach to buy the CD before I left the country.
Listen Here one of her best songs, and a live performance from Darling Harbour

Last Monday night, I was excited to be getting away from Lake Geneva and get some much needed sun and fresh air.
Then the hell began. It started with a potential snow storm on Monday night looming over us. So we decided to head down to Chicago so that we wouldn’t miss our flight. First night in a hotel.
Then after we had checked in and were sitting in the gate area and I had an urgent message from my mom. My dad was in the hospital. I just couldn’t get on the plane without making sure that my Dad was ok. I was crying and really upset and took the first bus back to Beloit.
Once I got home, my dad was home as well and things had settled down. It was a big scare for us all and hopefully a wake-up call for my dad. He works incredibly too hard. I spent the night in Beloit and took a flight out on Wednesday morning.
Of course my flight was delayed in Chicago, nothing new. Finally got to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and checked in, got my registration packet. This place is massive and ridiculous. We then headed over to Opry Mills and enjoyed the most unhealthy meal ever consisting of chicken fingers, onion rings and a shake. Then spent two more nights in that hotel with a major snorer.
We then moved downtown Nashville and my friend started getting sick. We attempted to go out on Friday night, but she was too sick. Another two nights spent at that hotel.
Our flight was then cancelled this morning and we had to find a new hotel for the night. We are currently at a hotel very close to the airport.
Four hotels in seven nights……and they are talking that our flight tomorrow may be cancelled.

After throwing myself a pity party for a full 24 hours, I got myself gussy’d up for a benefit dinner.
I was lucky enough to be invited to a benefit for the Y by a good friend of mine. It felt good putting on make-up (if you know me well, I never wear makeup), and wearing heels.
I had a few too many vodka and cranberry’s but hey, it was semi-free. I bid in the silent auction on a massage as a b-day present for Dean. It was nice to actually attend a benefit dinner and not have to worry about working at it or doing check-out. And be home at a decent hour.
Now, I am currently curled up on the couch, awaiting tomorrow morning when I can sleep in as late as I want.

Damn, my life seems down now.
Dean was suppose to be back yesterday, but because of visa issues had to move his return back to March 5.
It’s snowing…..again. When it snows, I CAN’T GO ANYWHERE. I live at the bottom of a hill and I drive a Saturn.
Not like I have anywhere to go anyways, that’s what the most depressing part.
There are only so many times that you can watch Bridget Jones Diary, count as of 8:08. One full time and 8 minutes into the second.
On the up side, I am heading to Nashville on Tuesday. A tad warmer, green grass, and hopefully some sun. I am low on my vitamin D. Throw in a little line dancing and I’ll be feeling better.

I have two favorite shows. First is Home and Away, an Australian soap opera, but seeing as you can only watch it in every other country BUT America, I have to put that on the back burner until I someday settle in a foreign country.
My second favorite show is Law and Order: SVU. Ooooo, excitement. It’s getting to the point where even the marathons on TBS aren’t even interesting, because I have seen them all. Twice.
They should make an episode a day, like Home and Away does. Keeps the viewer attached, running to get home in time to see what happens this time on Law and Order: SVU.
Sweet!

There are thirty seconds of the day that I dread.
It’s that thirty seconds that I decide to move from my cozy position on the couch to put on my freezing pajamas and get into an ice cold bed.
I just wish for a warm up soon, instead we are suppose to get another 10 inches of snow on top of the slush party on the ground now.
