Anaconda Hunting

Two weeks from today, I will have been hanging out in the jungle for a few days…..

Exciting?  One would think so, but I am actually very nervous and am questioning why I agreed to go on this trip with my dad.

I was looking at the website today of the place that we are staying, and I am in awe because I have no idea how I am going to keep myself occupied for 8 days while being in the jungle.  I think there is only so much kayaking, canopy climbing and fishing one can do.

Hmmmmm……and you can know that I aint going to be swimming in the Amazon river…..

College

The best four years of my life.  Maybe it was the great friends that I made.  Maybe it was the men.  Maybe it was the lack of responsibility.  But overall, I think that my friend sums it up best.  Summer Camp for four years.

There was always something to do.  Never were we bored or wondering what we were going to do.  There were always so many choices.  We did have to go to class a few times a day, but otherwise we spent our days lounging on the grass, socializing in the library, hooking up with guys after midnight.

These past few months I have reunited with a couple of good friends from college and although we are no longer in college, I still very much enjoy their company.  We all bitch about how lame Beloit was, but deep-down, I know it will always hold a special place in all of our minds.

Vegas, Babe

This past weekend, my friend and I went off on an adventure to Las Vegas.  I had never been there, but was pleasantly surprised about how much I enjoyed it.

I thought that the massive amount of lights, people and alcohol would deter me from having fun, but I most certainly surprised.  We enjoyed our hotel on the strip.  Played the 25 cent slots.  Went out for some good food.  Saw two Cirque de Soliel shows.  Went to a club.  And altogether had a fantastic weekend.

Lucky for us, we have two friends that are living and working in Vegas.  One friend works for the Cirque show, Zumanity and her boyfriend actually performs in the show.  We got to see the show for free, and from some bomb-ass seats too.  We also saw the show KA with the locals discount.  Two Cirque shows can run a person up to $250.  It was nice to see both shows and get invited back stage to each show.

The best night was by far, the night we went to Fremont Street.  We started our evening at a somewhat dirty casino called Mermaids.  Then headed over to the Fremont Hotel and ended up staying there until about 4am.  We laughed a lot, reminisced about college and overall, enjoyed each other’s company.  It was followed by a hysterically funny cab ride back to our hotel, and dancing with random people at the bar in our hotel.

I am surely counting down until I will be able to head back.  Thanks to my wonderful girlfriends for making it very memorable.
