I have officially been in the USA for a while, actually, haven’t left the Midwest for almost two month. I am used to traveling, going to the airport and such and I think that I am having withdrawals.
To cope with these shakes and headaches, I reminisce about all my trips and look at pictures.
I love this picture of Dean and I in Paris, it was such a wonderful day. We spent the whole day wondering about the city, seeing the city, taking the subway and munching on local treats.
Oh, how I wish I could travel every day!

So, it’s out there. I am officially looking for a new job. Not because I dislike my current job, but I am ready to make a move to the city.
I did get a job offer from an organization that I am familiar with from college but an struggling with the idea of leaving my current position at this time. With the beginning of summer and the craziness the ensues from this!
One option is to take the position and struggle emotionally and financially, or to stay in my current position and keep looking. I want to move, that is the biggest draw, and I do enjoy the organization that I would be working with. If I don’t take a job now, what will happen a few months down the road when I am ready to move and I can’t find a job….
I am absolutely horrible at making decisions, wishing that someone was there to make a decision for me! Please

Life has been crazy, crazy, crazy. Hence I haven’t posted in a very long time.
My life may be changing drastically within the next couple of weeks. I promise to update as soon as things are official.
Peace

This weather certainly isn’t helping my garden. The garden that I am extremely proud of becuase I bought all the seeds, nurtured them until they were seedlings and now have re-potted them in nice little terra cotta pots. I set them out in the sun everyday and bring them all in at night. Aren’t I a good gardner. Seeing as I don’t have any yard to plant these, my back porch is going to become a sea of pots this summer. With lots of fresh veggies!

There are several signs that I am getting older and it is getting a little scarey. Firstly, it’s the whole “damn it’s 9pm, I am tired and ready for bed.” In addition, it’s my internal clock that wakes me up at 6:15am every morning. I used to be able to sleep until 10 or 11, easy. But now, its a struggle to sleep until 8am when I have to get up and get ready for work.
Or maybe it’s my body getting ready for having children. That would be the perfect sleep schedule for having a family. But, this ain’t going to happen anytime soon, so no need worrying ’bout that.

I have wanted a new car for, well, almost forever. Something with leather seats and a sun roof. The complete opposite of my 2000 Saturn.
But now as gas prices have gotten obsurd, I can’t really complain anymore. On a recent stint, I kept track of how many miles I got on a tank of gas. It was 365, that’s about 36 miles to the gallon.
Lastly, I would like to make a point that we shouldn’t complain about gas prices in America. Try going to England where it would cost the enquivalent of $8.42 per gallon.
So, I am not going to compain anymore about it. I’ve said my piece and now I will just have to live with high gas prices.

Upon my return from the Amazon, I have become a little obssessed with the National Geographic channel and Animal Planet. I think it is because of all the crazy, cool, wildlife that my dad and I saw when we were there.
Thanks to a very intelligent and patient guide, we were able to see a straight up National Geographic moment. As we were going along, we saw a hawk who was hunting on these little nests. Our guide informed us that there were chicks in the nest and that is what he was looking for. We witnessed a him dive bomb the nest, pull out the chick and then eat the chick. In my dads words, “Cool.”

You know that feeling when something makes you really excited. Like that feeling when you first meet someone that you really, really like. It gives you a tingle in your tummy. A smile on your face.
It can also happen when you reconnect with people that were once a part of your life. It’s weird how Facebook can even do this. I have reconnected with many people because of this simple website. It gives me a good feeling when I get a “friend request” from one of those people.

On Thursday, we headed down to St. Charles, IL for a camping conference. I always love getting out of the office, so I really can’t complain. There were six of us from our camp and we joined about 1,000 more camp staff.
Everyone has a perception of camp staff. Kind of silly, out-going, and smelly. Seriously, people need to learn to take showers and wear shoes.
We went to several different educational sessions, and because I have self-diagnosed my ADD, I find it very difficult to sit and listen for 1 1/2 hours. But coming away from it, I did learn a few things that I hope will be valuable this summer in making our camp a safe and educational opportunity for our campers and staff.
It’s all fine and dandy when you are there. So many great ideas. So much energy. Everything happening so fast. But, great, how do we implement it into our program. That’s the challenge. That’s way we have to take baby steps and start small.
So, after it all sinks in, and we all get a good nights sleep (there were five of us in a room), then we will see what we can actually implement with our staff and campers.

I am preparing for a medical procedure tomorrow, therefore, I can only have clear liquids all day today. I just want to eat something. Bread, crutons, pizza, cookie dough, a banana, ANYTHING. This is a sure test of my discipline. But if I don’t do it right this time, I will have to do all over again.
I am debating whether or not to just go to bed now and sleep through the night while my stomach grumbles away.
